National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)

Well, folks! It's National Novel Writing Month--more commonly referred to as NaNoWriMo! For all those taking the 50,000-word plunge, (or something like it) here's a few cool places to hang out when you're not actually writing.

  • First, there's Terrible Minds, a site dedicated to a "Big, fast, squirming list of Nanowrimo do's and don't's. Looks like a kick in the pants!
  • Nanowrimo's very own 10 easy steps to writing a novel.
  • National Novel Finishing Month. (love it!) Nanofimo
  • National Blog Posting Month. Nanopomo
  • Story Base provides a dictionary of narrative writing prompts that you can customize yourself.

There's just a few things to get your juices flowing! Good luck Nanowrimo initiates! The story begins! Shoot me a comment or a Tweet me about your NaNoWriMo hopes, fears, grand plot schemes, et cetera! Is this your first time attempting NaNoWriMo, or have you penned a unique saga for NaNoWriMo in the past?

  1. I almost did NaNoWriMo last year, but too much was going on and I gave up on day three (lol, I know, such a quitter). I considered doing it this year, but once again, I know I can't commit to that big of a job right now. I'm impressed you're doing it, with all you have going on! Good luck!! :) Thanks for the link to NaBloPoMo - I'm totally doing that!! I'm already posting daily for the 30 Days of Truth Challenge, and often more than once per day, so it works out great! :)
