Bedrooms and Things

Hey ya'll,

Yes, I know it's been awhile since you've heard from ME. I've been madly scheduling guest posters for this blog, because I can't quite seem to muster the energy to blog myself. My life is a strange mixture of uneventful and crazy, and always too much of one or the other, it seems. I need more balance or structure in my life, I think. Ha.

Anyway, I'm popping in to say that while I was thinking about going on a little (or long) haitus, I'm not sure I really want to. I might just ask you all to be okay with sporadic posts and occasional silences. What do you think? Also, part of the reason I don't post as often I think, is because I am trying very hard to stick with the genres of this blog: literature, writing, poetry, creative outlook, etc. However, I think I would post more if I could get away with expanding this blog into a sort of anything-and-everything blog. There would, of course, be the literary here. It's one of my great passions. But I want to incorporate other stuff that I'm passionate about, like women's issues and feminism, parenting (prospective parenthood, as it happens), and you know--just day to day stuff, too.

So this post is just a head's up. I might switch things up around here a bit. Expand, enhance, all that. Stay tuned, pretty please? :)

Okay, all that said, here's something I found to amuse you. It's literary! Ever wonder what the personal spaces of your favorite authors look like? It's kind of voyeuristic, but fascinating to catch glimpses of literary legends' most intimate settings...

Apartment Therapy featured this post awhile back : Literary Style: 15 Writer's Bedrooms. Check 'em out!

  1. Omg Victor Hugo's bedroom looks ridiculously fancy and Sylvia Plath's is so dismal.

  2. I love the interviews Laura. They are very informative but I do miss your voice on here.I think it's a good idea to include other subjects of your passion. You're a literary person, whatever you write about will naturally come out that way regardless of the subject.
