Welcome Baby Silas

Hi all!

I am just popping in here briefly to say that we finally welcomed our new son into the world! Silas Finnegan Page was born October 13th 2012, at 1:40 in the afternoon! He weighed 7 lbs and 9 oz and was19 inches tall.

I am planning on writing our birth story here in the next few weeks. The hubs and I planned an unassisted homebirth and welcomed our baby boy naturally, without medical personel, without drugs, and in the comfort and privacy of our own home (I can see the "processing" look on all your faces. Maybe a few of your jaws are dropping). We went the unconventional, "hands off" route, certainly, but we couldn't be more pleased with how things played out. Our goal was a completely natural and intimate experience and that's what we had.

Being a mother is such an incredible, beautiful thing to be. I can't put everything I feel for this little human into words. But we've been blessed. So, so blessed.
